Obituary:
Mr. Troy C. White, age 68 years, a resident of Harman, passed away early Thursday morning, September 10, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Emergency Department. He was born on May 9, 1941 at Dry Fork, WV a son of the late John White and the late Bertha Kisamore White. On July 5, 1967 he was married to Ellen VanDevender White who survives at Harman. Also surviving are two sons, Greg White and Danica and Darryl White and Savannah Hoffman all of Harman. Five brothers, Howard Kisamore, North Carolina, Johnnie White, Singers Glen, VA, Ernest White, Thomas, WV, Ronald White, Ohio and Jerry White, Elkins,four sisters, Doris Morral and Jean White, Red Creek, WV, Donna VanDevender, Montrose and Sylvia Daniels, Elkins, one step-granddaughter, Alexis Cooper, a granddaughter, soon to be born named Abigail, a special nephew, Samuel Blizzard and his best friends, Harley and Louie. Troy was a graduate of Harman High School with the class of 1959. He was employed as a mechanic with Midway Motors at Harman for over twenty eight years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Harman Fire Department for thirty three years where he was a former vice president of the department and was selected as Firefighter of the Year in 1989. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Sunday, September 13th he will be moved to the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church at Dry Fork for visitation from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM the funeral hour. Grey Hinkle and Rev. Rick Lewellen will officiate. Fireman’s honors will be accorded and interment will follow in the VanDevender Cemetery near Harman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harman Volunteer Fire Department, Box 3, Harman, WV 26270 in memory of Mr. White.
