Russell Darling, age 90 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away at 1:40 P.M. Monday, September 14, 2009. He was born March 20, 1919 at New York, New York, a son of the late Clifford George Darling and Corinne Willemin Darling. On May 3, 1941 at Elkins, he was married to the former Margaret Lee “Peg” Adamson, who survives. Also surviving is one son, David R. Darling and one daughter, Nancy Lee Jobe, both of Elkins. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Darling served with the United States Army during WWII and retired as a Captain with the Army National Guard.
At Mr. Darling’s request, his remains will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
