Obituary:
Vera Maxine Trickett Taylor, age 87 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away at 2:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. She was born April 27, 1922 at Kedron, Upshur County, a daughter of the late James Newton Trickett and Roberta Tenney Trickett. On August 23, 1945 at Baltimore, MD, she was married to Dale Woodrow Taylor, who preceded her in death on October 27, 1986. She is survived by two sons, Robert Blaine Taylor and wife Judy of Laurel Mountain and Roger Lee Taylor and wife Juanita of Elkins. One sister, Betty Jack of Buckhannon and one granddaughter, Mary Rebecca Taylor of Phoenix, AZ also survive. Maxine was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the Class of 1941. During WWII, she worked at the Glen L. Martin Aircraft Factory at Baltimore, MD. For 38 Years, Maxine and her husband Dale owned and operated Quality Decorators. Their company built and designed parade floats which were used in many festivals throughout the State. She was a member of Delphia Rebekah Lodge No. 62 of Elkins Woodmen of the World, Lodge No. 6065 and the Alpha Shrine No 19 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a member of the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins. At 7:00 P.M. Thursday, a memorial service will be conducted by members of Delphia Rebekah Lodge No. 62 of Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 18th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens(formerly the I.O.O.F cemetery). The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 1st Street, Elkins, WV 26241.
