Mrs. Rosie Mabel “Pose” Cutright Fox, age 96 years, a resident of the Elkins Manor, and formerly of Cassity, passed away at 2:45 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Unit in Elkins. She was born April 27, 1913 at Blue Rock, Randolph County, a daughter of the late Harmon H. and Birdie Lloyd Cutright. On March 31, 1934 at Oakland, MD, she was married to the late Harry Richard “Dick” Fox who preceded her in death November 26, 1985. She is survived by one son, James Fox and wife Evalena, Huttonsville. One daughter, Sue Stanley and husband William, Mt. Airy, MD and son-in-law, Philip Harris and wife Kathleen, Perryopolis, PA. Seven grandchildren, Tina Barnes, Timothy Stanley, Mark Fox, Joseph & Jeffrey Harris, Vincent & Chauncey Fox. Fourteen great grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica & Andrea Barnes, Benjamin Taylor, Nicholas & Hannah Rose Harris, Isabella & Sophia Harris, Garrett, Whitney & Megan Stanley, Scott Fox, Cash Fox & Isaiah Fox, two half-sisters, Vera Hanifan, Barberton, OH and Barbara Tawney, Wadsworth, OH and one half-brother, Edward Cutright, Belington. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She will also be remembered by special friends, Eula Currence and Katie Carver. Also preceding her in death were one son, Merle Keith Fox, one daughter, Patricia Jo Fox Harris, two sisters, Florence Thomason Pingley & Gladys Elmore, one half sister, Dortha Thomason and three brothers, Ernest, Stanley & Basil Cutright, one half brother, Bayard Cutright and step mother Ruth Snyder Cutright Newlon.
Mrs. Fox worked as a cook at the Cassity and Mill Creek Elementary Schools for several years and was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 24th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dewaine Corley officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Rosie Mabel “Pose” Cutright Fox.
