Delmar E. Lambert,Sr, age 85 years, a resident of Bowden, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 27, 2009 in the Hospice Care In-Patient Center in Elkins. He was born August 3, 1924 at Wymer a son of the late Stelman and Laurie Davis Lambert. On June 26, 1947 in Elkins, he was married to Opal Baker Lambert who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 2009. Surviving are two sons, Delmar Lambert, Jr. and wife Rosemary, Bowden, and Harrison Lee Lambert and wife Barbara of Bowden. Two daughters, Susie Bohan and Sandra Morrison and husband Samuel all of Elkins, a step daughter, Ruby Morrison of Rennex, WV, one brother, Theodore Lambert and wife Sharon, Elkins, one sister, Lillian Border and husband Marvin, Ohio, Sisters-in-law, Hazel Lambert, Bowden, Sadie Lambert, Bemis and Mariam and Larry Hedrick of Brushy Run. Also surviving are grand children, Lisa Rineholt and husband John, Rennex, WV, Dennis Morrison, CA., Samantha Clinebell and husband John, Rennex, WV, Ricky Stell and wife Aggie and David Stell and wife Robin, Tracy Simmons and husband Charles, Ashley Lambert, Cierra Stewart, Tristen and Tegan Lambert, Dustin and Lanaya Shaffer, Taylor Toney, Desiree, Cheyenne and Michael Lambert, great grandchildren, Becky Smith and husband Tom, Pamela Stewart and husband James, Delmar Lambert and wife Stacie, Molley Shaffer and husband Keith, Ellen Toney and husband Seth and Jennifer Lambert and great-great grandchildren, Donnie Rineholt, Katie Spry, Cory Rineholt, Austin, Cheyenne, Saydee and Donovan Morrison, Ethan Stell, Zack and Karrissa Stell, Andy and Kendell Simmons, Brett and Logan Smith and Kierra Dawn Cogar and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Fred, Wilmoth and Viven Lambert, three sisters, Opal Ayers, Bessie White and Nelda Warner, one granddaughter, Angie Lambert and three sons-in-law, Paul Stell, Don Morrison and Richard Bohan.
Mr. Lambert attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed by Wilson Lumber Company prior to his retirement.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 30th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Delmar E.
