Obituary:
Ella J. “Patty” Bell, age 74 years, a resident of Mill Creek, passed away early Monday, November 2, 2009 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born October 23, 1935 at Eden, WV, a daughter of the late Orvil Ray and Maudie Mildred Howdershelt Goff. On October 26, 1952 at Rowlesburg, she was married to Clyde Lester Bell who preceded her in death. Also surviving are three sons, Clyde Bell, Jr., and wife Carolyn, Charles R. Bell and wife June and Robert A. Bell and wife Lisha, all of Mill Creek. Three brothers, Richard Goff and wife Jeanie , of Monroe Falls, OH, Darrell Goff and wife Charlotte of Valley Bend, and Allen Goff and wife Donna of Rowlesburg. Three sisters, Mary Bolyard and husband Lowell, of Akron, OH, Alice Sigley and husband Art, of Eden, WV and Peggy Wenzel and husband Kirk, of Wheeling. One sister-in-law, Rosemary Goff, of Kingwood. Two special nieces, Doris Ann Knotts of Kingwood and Cheryl Ann Goff Weiford, of Elkins, and a great niece, Sydney Weiford. Four grandchildren, Christina Defibaugh, Charles R. “Spankie” Bell, Jr., Robert A. Bell, Jr. and Joseph A. Bell. Eight great grandchildren, Whitney Defibaugh, Brayden, Lindsey, Joie, Emma, Owen “Ooie”, Parker and Chase Bell also survive. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Charles and Ronald Goff and one sister, Helen Jean Knotts. Mrs. Bell was co-owner of Mill Creek Builders. She was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Saturday, November 7th she will be moved to the Beverly United Methodist Church for visitation from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon the funeral hour. Pastor Mike Ford and Pastor Gary Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beverly United Methodist Church Special Building Fund or the Beverly United Methodist Church Food Pantry, PO Box 407, Beverly, WV 26253 in memory of Mrs. Bell.
