Gary Leonard Taylor, age 62 years, a resident of Huttonsville, passed away Sunday evening, November 15, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born December 26, 1946 at Mill Creek, a son of the late Lawson and Opal Marie Gear Taylor. Surviving are two sons, Brian Keith Taylor and Bradley Lawson Taylor, both of Mill Creek, three daughters, Michelle Rae Taylor, Mill Creek, Tamela Denise Taylor and Angela Marie Howard both of Pennsylvania. Five brothers, Jack, Mike, Lloyd, Timmy and David Taylor, six sisters, Janet McCartney, Debbie Whitcomb, Roberta Shreve, Pamela Nitz, Marcella Fincham and Lisa George and eleven grandchildren also survive. Also preceding him in death was one son, Gary Leonard Taylor, II.
Gary was employed as a Coalminer for Carter-Roag Coal Company at the time of his retirement.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary McCartney officiating. At the request of the deceased, his remains will be cremated.
