Mr. Michael David Bennett, age 58 years, a resident of Jimtown, passed away Saturday morning, November 28, 2009 at his home where he resided with his wife Patricia and son Jonathan. He was born
January 17, 1951 in Jimtown, the youngest son of the late Bernard Harding Bennett and Gertrude Louise Bennett of Jimtown. Also surviving are his wife, Patricia Bennett of Jimtown, his beloved children, son, Jonathan Bennett and friend Kim Scott, Jimtown and daughter, Frances Miller and husband Sammy of Elkins. One brother, Kenneth Bennett and wife Sandy, Jimtown, two sisters, Thelma Wyatt and husband Jimmy, Richmond, VA., and Sharon Elza of Elkins, five beloved granddaughters, Stephanie Miller, Tina Miller, Natalie Wolford Bennett, Hanna Wolford Bennett and Lydia Wolford Bennett and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Bennett was employed as a Coal Truck Driver until becoming disabled. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his children and grandchildren and watching the little ones play. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking and making crafts and loved to visit his neighbors and friends.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 2nd from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leon Hevener officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown.
