Sherman Kent Hamrick, age 35 years, a resident of Mingo, passed away Sunday morning, January 17, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 19, 1974 at Elkins, a son of Sherman Edward and Margaret L. Cable Hamrick of Valley Head. Also surviving are two sons, Ethan Kent Hamrick and Evan Michael Hamrick, of Marlinton. One brother, Michael Edward Hamrick, of Kirkland, IL and two sisters, Cynthia L. Hamrick, McKees Rocks, PA and Gathel Irene Wood, Indian Trail, NC. Two nephews and two nieces also survive. Sherman was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School and was a member of the 207th National Guard for six years. He was employed at Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort at the time of his death. Sherman loved fishing, hunting and playing his guitar.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 21st from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marshall Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Mingo Cemetery.
