Melanie Nicole Miller, age 37, a resident of 208 Westview Drive, Elkins, WV passed away February 6, 2010 at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She was born November 13, 1972 in Elkins, a daughter of Wilma Phillips Miller and Robert L. “Bob” Miller. She was never married. Melanie is survived by her parents and one brother, Robert “Todd” Miller, his wife, Elizabeth Barnes Miller and nephew Nolan Reese Miller whom she loved dearly.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkins and Seekers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Elkins Junior Women’s Club. She is a 1997 graduate of Davis & Elkins College. While attending D&E she was a member of Phi Beta Lambda Fraternity and Beta Alpha Beta Fraternity. She suffered from mixed connective tissue disease for the past 18 years and died of an apparent heart attack. Melanie was a loving, caring person. Rather than focus on her own illness, Melanie was concerned about the well being of others and always had a kind word of encouragement to offer. She touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 12th from the Church with Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli and Rev. Nancy Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 412 Randolph Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Melanie.
