July 20, 1958 - December 27, 2017
Charles Edward Haupt, 59, of Annapolis, Maryland entered into eternal life with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, surrounded by his family. He, who once saw through a glass dimly, now sees his Lord face to face. He fought the good fight; he finished the race; he kept the faith. Charles was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At an early age he moved to Jupiter, Florida. In growing up on the water he discovered a lifelong passion for boating and fishing. At age 14 his family moved to Annapolis, where he resided until his passing. Charles was a hardworking man who loved God and valued family, friends and serving others. He enjoyed many activities with those he loved, including lake vacations, snow skiing, fishing, making maple syrup in WV, and serving those with needs that he could address. Charles worked at Cook Electric and earned his license as a Master Electrician. More importantly to him, he enthusiastically embraced and flawlessly executed the role of “Uncle Charles.” Despite a grim and short-term initial diagnosis, his daily prayer throughout his illness was that God allow him to see the completion of a major renovation at his church and to see his niece, Karen, get married. God graciously granted both. As bonuses, he also got to share another birthday with his twin sister, Carol, enjoy a family vacation at Lake Gaston and celebrate the marriage of niece Katie. Charles will be deeply missed by his loving wife Kathy Haupt, his mother Thelma Haupt, his siblings Mary (Art) Horn, Billy (Kathy) Haupt and Carol (Bob) Eaton, as well as his nieces and nephews Mike (Holly) Horn, Katie (Tarek) Agile, Andrew (Ashley) Eaton, Rachel Eaton, Karen (Connor) Gudmundsson and Stephen Eaton; great nephews Evan and Benjamin Horn, and by many more family in Maryland, Colorado and West Virginia. A Celebratory Memorial Service for Charles will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Weems Creek Baptist Church, 600 N. Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, Md. Please join us for a time of remembrance, recollection, food and fellowship. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Blue Rock Church at Helvetia, WV with Pastor David Orr officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Rock Cemetery where Charles will be buried among family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weems Creek Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund, c/o Weems Creek Baptist Church, 600 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 in memory of Charles.
