    Franklin Randy Kyle

    August 20, 1933 - April 17, 2021

    Franklin “Randy” Kyle of Elkins, WV passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center under the care of Mountain Hospice. He was born in Elkins on August 20, 1933 to the late Clifford Lloyd and Eva Mae Wright Kyle. On December 24, 1956, he married Juanita June George at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Gail Shaffer and husband David of Elkins, and Paula Leonard and husband David of Eldersburg, Maryland, four grandchildren, Ben Shaffer and wife Lisa, Adam Shaffer and wife Jessica, all of Elkins, and Kyle and Sara Leonard of Eldersburg, and one great-granddaughter, Norah Shaffer. Also surviving are four brothers, Arnold Kyle, Phil Kyle and wife Marlene, Jeff Kyle and wife Janice, all of Elkins, Jim Kyle and wife Sue of Keyser, three sisters, Mary Rowan and husband Buddy, Martha Roy and husband David, and Brenda Kirkpatrick, all of Elkins, and one sister in law, Lorena Sinsel of Elkins. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife of 65 years, Juanita, sister, Patty Miller, brother, Edgar Kyle, brother-in-law John Kirkpatrick, and sister-in-law Kitty Kyle. He was a graduate of Elkins High School; class of 1952. Randy worked as a salesman for T&W Sales until he was drafted by the United States Army during the Korean War. After serving two years in the Army, he returned to Elkins and rejoined T&W Sales. After leaving T&W, he became part owner of Elkins Builders Supply where he served as Vice-President and Secretary. He was part owner of Elkins Builders Supply for over forty years. He was a member Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion, past member of the Elkins Zoning Board of Adjustments for over forty years, and a member of the Elks Lodge #1135 for over sixty years. To ensure the safety of family and friends, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Rev. Dr. Peter Vial will officiate and internment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Davis and Elkins College, 100 Campus Drive, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mr. Kyle.
