Mr. Gregory Scott “Scottie” Harman, age 52 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was born September 9, 1966 in Elkins a son of John Edward Harman and Mary Elizabeth New Harman who survive in Elkins. He was formerly married to Missy Harman who resides at Kerens. Also surviving are two sons, Ryan Harman of Kerens and Ben Harman and fiancée Haley Schrader of Kerens, one daughter, Skylar Harman of Kerens, one brother, Allan Harman of Elkins, one sister, Lori Louk and husband Blair of Beverly and one granddaughter Presley Harman. Several nieces and nephews, Jonathan Harman, Emily Louk, Allison Louk, Abby Smith and husband Titus, Easton Harman, Brooke Louk, Brady Hommema and Brycen Hommema, former sister- in-law, Lourie Hommema and husband Brian, former mother-in-law, Patty Channels, former sister-in-law, Tina Harman as well as special friends Wayne Collett and Bill Olmstead also survive. Also preceding him in death were grandparents, Audie Ellsworth New and Mary Bell Hogue New, Dickson Harman and Icie Roseltha Hall Harman and his former father-in-law, Lawrence Channels. “Scottie” attended the schools of Randolph County having graduated from Elkins High School. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator by the West Virginia Department of Highways at the time of his death. He was a Methodist by Faith, an honorary member of the Elkins Volunteer Fire Department and loved hunting and fishing. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 9th from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. At the request of the deceased, cremation will follow. In memory of Scottie and on behalf of his daughter Skylar, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh, 451 44th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
