Joyce Kathleen Hamilton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Kathleen Hamilton, age 77 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 in the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was born May 28, 1945 in Elkins a daughter of the late Ivan and Vera Frey Hamilton. Joyce never married and is survived by one sister, Sarah Bennett of Parsons. Also surviving are nephews whom she loved, Michael and Steven Hamilton and Jacob and John D. Bennett; a loving niece, Susan Trojan, great niece, Emily Hamilton, a sister-in-law, Patty Jo Hamilton, many cousins, co-workers and a very good friend Nancy Helmick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Terry Hamilton, James Hamilton and David Hamilton, a nephew, David “Butch” Hamilton and brother-in-law, John W. Bennett. Joyce was a graduate of Elkins High School and a member of the marching band. She was employed by the Wallace Bakery and for thirty eight years was employed as a Case Worker for the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources prior to retirement. During her retirement years, Joyce enjoyed travelling, arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends. Joyce attended the Hambleton United Methodist Church at Hambleton, WV and was a good person with a free spirit. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Monday, June 20, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Julie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
