Kenneth C. "Kenny" Riggleman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth (Kenny) C. Riggleman, 84 of Elkins, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born April 11, 1938, a son to the late Clyde O. Riggleman and Martha E. Phillips Riggleman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years J. Kay Harper Riggleman, his son K. Todd (Robin) Riggleman and daughter Kelly T. (Jack) Gilbert. He was adored by his three grandsons, J. Dillon Gilbert (Alexandra), Garrett Riggleman (Tayler) and Kyle Riggleman (Fiancé Sydney). Much joy came when he was entertained by his great granddaughter Hadley Rose Riggleman. He is also survived by one brother, Sherwood Riggleman. He was preceeded in death by his sister-in-law Nora Flanagan Riggleman. He is survived by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. Kenny attended the schools of Elkins and became a lumber inspector in Memphis, TN. Kenny was a loyal employee of Mongold Lumber Company. For fun you could find Kenny tinkering in the garage working on his antique cars. His 1928 Model A roaster pick up started his journey of other vehicle restorations. This truck served him well during his high school years cruising around Elkins. If not working on cars, he could be found at the woodshop. His talent and skilled hands for woodworking began in highschool when he created twin beds, lamps and bedside tables. Kenny blessed his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law with handmade stand up jewelry boxes one Christmas. There are numerous handcrafted wood items adorning his families homes. Kenny was a member of the trustees and choir of Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church. He was inducted into the Randolph County Athletic Hall of Fame with the 1956 EHS Basketball Team. He served as a judge for the VICA Olympics in woodworking. Next time you enjoy a piece of light or dark chocolate remember Kenny, as this was a daily staple. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2022 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Jasper and Rev. Joseph Shreve officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens Mausoleum near Gilman.
