Mary Louise See Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary “Louise” See, age 92, was born at Suncrest, WV on December 19, 1929 and departed this life on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Davis Medical Center in Elkins following a brief illness. She was a longtime resident of Valley Head and more recently a resident of Lavender Fields Assisted Living in Beverly. She was the daughter of the late Ike Brooks and Nell Brooks Pnakovich. On February 16, 1948, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Charles Edward See who preceded her in death April 5, 2000. She is survived by two sons, David See and wife Shelva of Montrose and Jeffrey See and wife Jodie of Valley Head; five grandchildren, Lori Smith and husband Steve, Brandie Metheny and husband Jeremy, Chris See and companion Michelle, all of Elkins, Chad See of Valley Head, Sheena May and husband Ryan of Mannington, WV. Great-grandchildren, Josh Smith, Briana Smith, Trevor Smith, Gracie Metheny, Christopher See and Keliyah See, all of Elkins, Kiona and fiancé Austin Vance of Harman, Macy and Trent May of Mannington; two great-great grandchildren, Rylee Smith of Elkins and Annsley Vance of Harman and a third expected in July. Also surviving are three sisters, Doris June Fawlring of Niagara Falls, NY, Phyllis Brownlee and Paula Staud of Elkins and one brother, Don Brooks of Fort Worth, TX. Also preceding her in death besides her husband and parents was her step-father, Mike Pnakovich; one sister, Eva Mae Sterling and one great grandson, Hunter Smith. Louise was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School with the Class of 1947. She and her husband Charles ran the family farm at Valley Head for many years and were actively involved in the community. Among Louise’s many memberships and activities were Randolph County Extension Homemakers, Log Cabin Quilters Guild, Board Member of the Valley Head Library where she was a member for twelve years, five of which she served as President of the board. She had served as Vice President of the Valley Head Community Center. She was named Randolph County Bell. She enjoyed word search, playing cards, quilting and camping. She was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church at Valley Head. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 17th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Welch officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley Head Cemetery at Valley Head, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Head Community Center, Valley Head, WV 26294 in memory of Louise.
