Robert F. "Bob" Caplinger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Robert F. “Bob” Caplinger, age 93 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 in the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born July 22, 1922 at Beverly, a son of the late Hoke and Lella Fern Harper Caplinger. He was married to Helen Ruth Helmick Caplinger who preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Finelli and husband Ron, Tall Timbers, MD and Sue Benscoter and husband Richard of Bardstown, KY. One sister, Mary Daniels of Elkins, two grandchildren, Denver Corley, II and Jessi Presken and husband David and one great granddaughter, Milana Presken also survive. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Donald L. Caplinger. Mr. Caplinger attented the schools of Randolph County and was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was employed as a carpenter for Malobicky Construction prior to his retirement and enjoyed farming for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was a member of the Goff Street Church of Christ in Elkins. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 12, 2015 from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Tom Meade officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Mr. Caplinger.
