Walter Lee "Bud" Wymer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Walter Lee “Bud” Wymer, age 74 years, a resident of Bowden, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born January 7, 1942 at Elkins, a son of the late Walter and Ester Lunsford Wymer. On November 17, 1960 at Elkins, he was married to Bonita Sue Godwin Wymer who preceded him in death September 27, 1969. On April 26, 1974 at Oakland, MD, he was married to Elizabeth Jane May Wymer who preceded him in death February 9, 2005. He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Wymer Hunt and husband Jeff of Moatsville, WV; three brothers, Tom and Dennis Wymer of Elkins and Bill Wymer of Charleston, WV; three sisters, Shirley Myers of Elkins, Mary Akers of Bowden, and Debra Vargo of Wheeling, WV. Also preceding him in death was an infant son, Michael David Wymer and one aunt, Maggie Jane Wymer. Walter was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was retired but was currently the grounds keeper at Alpine Shores Campground. Mr. Wymer’s wish for cremation was honored. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Monday, February 22, 2015 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday from the funeral home with Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Interment of the cremains will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville. Presentation of the American Flag will be made by H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion at the gravesite. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Pittsburgh Fisher House, 3945 Forbes Ave Box 240, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 in memory of Walter.
